That’s exactly right. Englishは不可算名詞、words可算名詞だからですね。
Writing で出されると、これは数えられるから、これはだめだから、
とわかるのですが、speaking しゃべりで、とっさのときには
なんかごっちゃになり、かつジェスチャーも加わり、入り交じっている
気がします。speakingでもきちんと区別してできるようになるには、
やはり慣れしかないのでしょうか？

Speaking is usually more difficult than writing. You are right. It is really hard to juggle all the different things that you need to think about when you are speaking. I suppose it just takes time.
